Sooooooo…….Now that we’ve got your attention on Let’s Connect, here’s the details. Starting in the fall we will set up a “Let’s Connect” group. Anyone that wants to learn more about the people you see every week is invited to sign up. This is aimed at putting people together that aren’t already connected. It’s formatted to take some of that awkwardness out of getting to know you. Here’s how it works.
- You can sign up for Let’s Connect as a couple, single or even family.
- The Evangelism committee will put people into groups of 5,6,7 or 8 at random. Well, sort of random. They won’t pair up the snow birds that spend months together in Florida together or the couples that go out every couple weeks. Nor will they pair up whole families. This is geared to get more people comfortable with knowing each other. The committee will try to pair people up with people of like interests.
- You can request a match with people you’d like to get to know. Can’t promise, but the committee will try to make that happen.
- Next, each group will get together at least once a month for the next 3 months. (Oct, Nov, Dec) Where? When? Well, that’s up to you. You can meet for conversation at someone’s house. Have a cookout. Go to dinner at Eat’N’Park. Go to a ball game or school concert. Go to Moraine or go bike riding or fishing. You may just want to have people over to your house to watch a movie or play board games with the kids. It’s all up to you.
- After that round of 3 months the names will be sorted again, new names added, some will drop out and do it all over again.
- What happens after that is entirely up to you!
So, Let’s Connect…….. Get to know the people you see in church every week. Make new friends, share stories, form new interests. Evangelism doesn’t have to mean you go out and do things for perfect strangers. It can also mean that you develop deeper relationships with the people around you.
