Rev. Stephen M. Franklin - Pastor

Pastor Steve was born and raised just outside of Youngstown, Ohio. He graduated from Westminster College in 2006 with a BA in Religion and Christian Tradition. After college he enrolled at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary where he graduated in 2009 with a Masters of Divinity. Pastor Steve came to us in July of 2010. Steve enjoys most outdoor things including golf, skiing, and softball. Steve and his wife, Laura, were married in June 2011. "God is doing exciting things here are MUPC, we're just happy to be a part of it."

Bryan Hermann - Youth and Media Director

Bryan grew up in New Castle, Pennsyvania, but attended Ellwood City Lincoln High School, where he graduated in 2000.  He is also a graduate of Central Christian College of the Bible in December of 2010 where he has a B.S. in Youth and Family Ministry. Bryan came on staff in March 2011.  Bryan is a huge Pittsburgh fan, but if he had to choose, would pick the Pirates over any other Pittsburgh team.  Bryan was recently married to his new wife, Eva Hermann.

Sally Baker - Church Secretary

Sally has been a church secretary for eight years, servring as our secretary for the past 2. She is retired from the U.S. Postal Service, having served as postmaster and administrative support to postal managers. Sally lives in Connoquenessing Township and is married to Bernard Baker.  Her hobbies include quilting, needle arts, and reading.

Vicki Georgic - Choir Director

Vicki has been a member of Meridian UPC for over 25 years and has been involved in all aspects of the music program since joining with her husband, Randy. She has a degree in music education and teaches elementary music in the Mars Area School District. She lives in Meridian with her husband and 2 daughters.

Valerie Mueller - Day Care Director

Valerie has a Bachelors Degree in Health and Physical Education, an associates degree in Business Management, a certificate in Human Development and Family Servies, and a specialized diploma in Leadership for Early Childhood Program Directors. She is the director of the child care center that was started in 1995.

Randy Georgic - Treasurer

Randy has also been a member of Meridian UPC for over 25 years. He met Vicki at Lebanon Valley College where he received a BS in Economics and Business Administration. Later, he got a Certificate in Accounting from the University of Pittsburgh. For 30 years, he was the CFO of Irene Stacy Community Mental Health Center. He wears several hats for the Church, including finances, maintenance, and janitorial. Finally, he shares the same two wonderful daughters and life with Vicki.

Dennis Kovach – Pianist

As a Butler resident, Dennis’ piano study since the age of seven has been a seed for adventure.  Classical training blended into popular combo-band music, which inspired deeper study at Westminster College, and then Duquesne University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Music Education in 1976. In 1984, with a deeper commitment to Christ, Dennis’ talents naturally segued into a passion for praise and worship music.  Since that time, he has served as a performer, arranger, and praise band leader for churches in both North Hills, as well as locally here in Butler. All the while, Dennis has had over 20 years of full time teaching experience with piano and guitar.  He presently maintains a 50-student clientele of all ages at his Route 8 facility in Valencia, Around the Corner Music Studios.  When not at “Around the Corner’” you might find Dennis sailing, bicycling, hiking, picnicking, or at the movies with his friends!
